Love for Woods still Prevails at Big Cedar at top golf gears
When the legendary Tiger Woods returned to Missouri on April 17, 2018, to avenge characterless shots he made at the previous year’s opening ceremony of his first public course at Big Cedar, 7000 pairs of watery children eyes fixated swings of all shapes and trajectories in a festival-like Junior Clinic.
As much as Woods would not want to recall the earlier memory, he was all over the news at the time. The event was direct for media, local politicians, and professional golf insiders, and shortly after that, his involvement in an arrest for driving with substances exacerbate unjust attention. Woods was not at his mentality and physical states, snoozing his muscles and social resilience after a series of surgeries. Nevertheless, the public barely cares about justifications. They witness a momentary performance, and they judge.
If this theory is true, then our “Big Cat” must have gained a fair share of judgment based on the latest audience’s reaction. Some as young as 6-years-old, they can be the toughest hearts to win. For many that have never seen Tiger in action, the crowd of children and their parents was generous and relentless with their “I love you.” The Missouri sun did not wear them down, nor the media stain of the past.
The event is no mere ceremonial. Tracing how far white balls were swung way past tangible and non-tangible boundaries, the audience felt his revival. Outside of Junior Clinic, people might still regard him with specks in their eyes, but for the children and parents and anybody that submerged in Missouri’s sun and incessant cheers that day, Tiger Woods was baptized with love.
